Can I do 'printing' at home or do I have to have large expensive machinery?Yes, you can definitely print at home! I love printmaking, and there are ways to do screen printing and relief prints at home. I screen print in my garage almost every day! The only things that would be a little tricky would be etching (involves acid) and traditional lithography (you'd need a litho stone, press, chemicals)... For screen printing, the best demo I have seen online is here: It is not as detailed as it could be, though, so I am hoping to put some very detailed tutorials on YouTube soon (probably at the end of the summer). I have some cheap ways of doing things that might be good for some viewers. I just found a video about printing block prints at home here: You would just need a block, a pencil, a carving tool, and a baren (see the "Tools" part of the above video) in order to do it. You can get all those supplies easily and cheaply from sites like www.dickblick.com or www.cheapjoes.comPlease ask more questions here if that answer isn't detailed enough. I will expand on these things more as I get the time to make more videos.
